If your baby is a boy and you’re considering naming him in the Welsh language, it might be helpful to know what some common words are translated into English. The word “boy” in Welsh is ‘pob’. But if we’re talking about how many letters there are then that comes out as 17 total. Here are other popular translations:
-Bryn = hill -Dafydd or Daffyd = David -Ceri= cheerfulness -Gwyneth= white of eye; bright eyed girl’ And here are a few more examples.. Glynis, Iwan, Rhys, Gwilym, Rhodri.
Tips on Choosing a Welsh Name for Boys:
-The most popular names are the ones that have been around a while, and there is some debate as to whether they should be used or not. If you go with these choices you will be in good company but if you’re looking for something more modern then it’s worth considering alternatives like Owen from the English language (which means son of Owain) or Lloyd which can come from any number of languages including Germanic, Scandinavian and Celtic roots.
-If your baby boy was born before January 2013 he will share his name day with those who were born after him so make sure to take this into account when deciding on what date to celebrate their birthdays!

-There were different dialects spoken around Wales but they began to merge over time when there was increased contact with other areas like England and Scotland, which means that modern day Welsh speakers may come from any one of these regions depending on where they live.
