What is your Animal Crossing island name? Is it a clever pun about something from the game, or just something random like “123456”? If you have been playing for a while and still haven’t come up with an AC island name that stands out, this blog post is for you! We will go over 12 good Animal Crossing Island names clichés (and what to do instead).
–
Wiggle Room: The first is a pun on the phrase “wriggle room”. What would happen if everyone had to have an island name that was just one word? If you are struggling with coming up with something, this blog post might give you some ideas.
What not to do: Giving yourself a cheesy and uninspired Animal Crossing Island name like 123456 or qwertyuiop (which I actually got in real life). These names are boring, hard to remember, and don’t make for good conversation starters! There’s no way anyone will want to talk about your AC town when they see those silly numbers as the title of your game file. Stay away from these cliches at all costs
-Reverse the order of the letters in your name to spell out a new word.
For example, ‘Leanne’ would become “Nane.”
-Think about what you’re passionate about and find an animal that matches this interest.
-Use only words from a foreign language or use made up words for spelling. For instance, Arabic names often have their family’s first letter be their last (example: Abbas becomes Abdelbas). This can make it easier to come up with something original without worrying too much about whether or not people will understand how to pronounce it!
-Combine two different languages into one name by translating them together. You could do some research on cognates so that they share similar sounds. For instance, ‘Anna’ in English and ‘Ahna’ in Arabic are both common names that represent “generosity.”
-Create a word out of your initials or name letters and then see if you can find an animal that matches the meaning.
For example: L–N with many meanings including loyalty, kindness, generosity; it could stand for lion who is symbolized by these qualities!
-Look up animals with similar features to what you’re looking for (ex: snake). Often times this will lead you down another path where there might be something perfect waiting at the end! In this case we would go to Serpentine which produces an emerald green gemstone called serpentinite! People might not know a lot about the gemstone but it’s important to have at least one!
-Name your island after an animal that is found in its biome. For example, if you live near oceans then name your town or village “Octopus” because they are often found living and swimming there.
The first step for this article was brainstorming different ways we could think of new names for our Animal Crossing towns with cliches we would want to avoid (ex: naming villages based on what type of fruit grows best). This included thinking up words that represent something meaningful in real life like loyalty, kindness, generosity; looking into animals similar features such as snake and serpentine; and finally naming islands according to their biomes.
This post is going to be great for people who are looking for new names, as well as those interested in learning more about the process and thinking behind our choice of words!
-Octopus (Oceans)
-Cobra Vineyard (Mountainous Areas)
-Lion’s Pride Winery & Bakery (Deserted Lands)
-Kangaroo Crossing Village Square Parkland Area with a Safari Theme Golf Course (Savannah Biome). This will work best if you have an open space at your island because this includes lots of grassy areas that can be used to set up animal enclosures like zoos or safaris. The high level requirements make it a difficult, but fun challenge.
-Kangaroo Crossing Arcade (Savannah Biome)
-Abominable Snowman’s Hideaway – this will be a cool hideout for players who want an ice themed island and are willing to spend the time setting it up! This is also good for people who just like snow in general because you can make your own winter wonderland with all sorts of frozen decorations or even turn your entire island into a snowy tundra. It would also work well as an area where you could have igloo homes that only appear at night when they build their houses out of blocks made from snowballs or some other material if there isn’t enough room on your main land.
-The Bunny Country Club – this is a good idea for players who love rabbits and want to have their own little bunny town with loads of shops, condos, hotels, or even just an area where there are lots of rabbits running around. You could make it so that visitors can buy items from your trade depot if you’re looking to generate some extra profit off the land as well.
-Lamplighter Lighthouse – A lighthouse would be perfect for islanders who like serene places to get away from the hustle and bustle of life whether it’s at work or in their home village! This space provides plenty of room outside when they may need a break but also has enough indoor space inside too (especially on rainy
It’s a known fact in the Animal Crossing community that most players don’t bother naming their townspeople.
I’m not sure why, but it might be because they’re lazy or too focused on other things like building up their shops. And let’s face it – this is really obvious when somebody has something called “Main Street” and all of its residents are named “Pokey.” Yikes! What if we had some good animal crossing island names? Like..
You can call your first resident (or mayor) Mayor Meowmerson-Stacheballs II. Maybe you could name one of them Dr Hooves McMuttface IV for no reason at all..? Honestly, I think there needs to be more diversity when it comes to townspeople names.
So now that the townsfolk are all named, what should we do next?
This post is about 12 Good Animal Crossing Island Names Clichés (And What To Do Instead).
The title of this blog post comes from a cliche in the game. In fact, I’m pretty sure that there’s no such thing as an original animal crossing island name.. or at least not one that doesn’t sound like it was inspired by another townsperson’s name. But don’t worry! We have some suggestions for you on how to fix those cringe-worthy clichés and make your town seem more unique! *Insert confetti*
It turns out that most players don’t bother naming their towns people either—they just call them by their profession, like the mayor or doctor.
