In the summer of 199, I was working at my family’s restaurant in a little town called 507. We were always looking for new ways to bring in customers and one day we had an idea: why not have live music? We started booking local bands on the weekends and they would come into town and play their songs. The boys came back in town that night with this song playing on repeat, “I’m walkin’ like John Wayne after midnight.” The song that the band played was a classic country tune called “I’m Walking like John Wayne,” and it’s about this guy who is walking through town, singing to himself. There’s some other stuff too, but I don’t want to spoil any of his secrets for you! We had amazing bands come in from all over the world and play at 50 Seven–it really made our restaurant special. We got up on stage with them once or twice as well, which was an incredible experience.
