The problem is that most people dont want to solve a problem that is not theirs. They just want to be told whats the problem were trying to solve. They dont really want to have to think. If we gave them a solution to the problem they wanted to solve they would just say “Oh I like this idea! I want to do it!” We should spend more time helping people solve their problems.
i5 marketing is a company that has decided its goal is nothing more than to sell you an “i5” (a brand of high-tech computer hardware). Essentially, the company is trying to convince the public that their products are superior to your products. The problem is that there is no such thing as a free lunch. In fact, the free lunch fallacy is a pretty old one. The truth is that your products are actually being sold by the company.
That’s right, i5 marketing. You can’t just walk into a store and buy a copy of i5 marketing’s newest smartphone. You have to buy it in a brick and mortar store because they’re the only ones who stock it. And even then, you can’t just walk around town saying, “Hey, I just want to buy a copy of i5 marketing’s latest smartphone.” Nope, you need to show up at the store.
I’ve seen this before. The problem is the way the free lunch fallacy works. You’re not really buying the product, you’re just being given a free lunch that you are free to take or leave whenever you want.
We think that there’s a certain magic in free lunch, which is why we think that you need to buy a copy of i5 marketings newest smartphone. But free lunch is, in this case, just another example of the magic of free lunch. You do not have to “pay” for the i5 marketings newest smartphone. Instead, you will be given the opportunity to take the free lunch for free.
