Just like any other book we read, the first two books in the magisterium series were written in a way that allowed us to become a part of the story. We began with the first, which was the first of the four books in the series, In the Land of the Dead. Then we traveled with the second, The Way of the Magister, which took us into the third volume, The Road to the Holy City.
We went back to the first book, In the Land of the Dead, to see how it was written. At the beginning of the book, we find out that the story is about the return of someone we’ve never heard of before, but who is a historical figure who has become a legend in his own time. We then discover that this person is the legendary Magister, a man who controls the power of the dead. The story has a very interesting history.
