I first came across this book when I was traveling in the middle of the night, and was so excited to find it. I read it in about 2 hours. I’m not the biggest fan of The Book, but I do love the writing style of the author. I’ve also had my eyes on it for a while and have been meaning to get my hands on it.
Its a collection of eight short stories about Mac Millan, a character from his classic book. Of course, he isn’t a character, he’s just the name of the author. I think it’s fine if you’re going to take liberties with facts of the books history, but I also think it’s not fine if you do that in the name of fun, or to make a point. If you do, you’re just taking something that may or may not be true and making it up. So to make a point, you can’t do that. You have to be honest about it.
I would argue that this is the same reason why the book is not as awesome as many of the other books out there. That is because it is fact-free. The truth is that Mac Millan was a man who could lie.
