Tech memes are a great way to communicate to the internet’s newest and most tech savvy. You know that guy who thinks he is a geek? Well he’s a geek, but that wasn’t always the case. The early internet was an age where everyone was into “geek culture,” meaning anything that was “cool” or “strange” to them.
One man’s geek, and another’s weirdo. Well, its not really a meme, its more of a statement, a way to make an important point. Everyone has a slightly different definition of geek, so you need to think about what you mean. In my experience, I have seen some of the more “graphic” or “real” versions of geeky are the ones who have a lot of tattoos, have weird hair, and talk about their favorite band or movie.
I have to admit I had my own definition of geeky back in the day, but I think my definition has changed over time. I think it was mainly due to the internet becoming an increasingly global phenomenon. The internet allowed us to connect with one another in a way we couldn’t before. Back then I didn’t have the option to go out and meet people from different places, and that has slowly changed.
The first time I heard the word “geek” I heard it as some person who was into tech. The word “geek” came into the english language via the greek word “geon”. I guess the same thing happened with the word “technology” as well, I am not sure if it was really a word then. I think it was a term used to describe the computers and devices.
Now, we know that I have been using my cell phone for ages and have a couple of friends who have one. I also have an iPod earbud which I listen through headphones. The technology meme does not have to do with the phone or the ipod. It could be the fact I use my laptop to game, or even the fact that I use my laptop to listen to music. The word tech is no longer a noun, but a verb.
Technologists are those who can use computers and technology. The people who make computers and mobile phones are the people who are making the technology we all use.
The word technology is itself a verb. That’s because computers and mobile phones have become so ubiquitous that we can use them without even realizing it. And it’s not just the cool cool stuff that we use to make a phone call or play a game. Instead, we use our phones and computers to get information from websites. We use them to see pictures and listen to music. We use them to order in restaurants and to get directions.
We use our phones and computers because they are the first thing that we do with our hands, and because they are the first thing that we learn to do and use in the first place. Its like we get to use our hands for the first time, and we learn how to use them.
